Cumberland Bay Bed
- double size shown above
(mattress and accessories not included)
Features:
- Our cedar, natural and untreated (why is this important?), is grown in moist
swampy New England woodlands.
- Cedar absorbs and loses moisture slowly, which minimizes the dry cracking, splintering and swelling more characteristic of oak or pine.
- Cedar has the US Forest Products Laboratory's highest rating for decay and disease resistance.
- Fresh cedar odor is a mild insect repellent.
- Environmentally conscious 'green' manufacturing processes:
- Sustainably harvested wood from responsibly managed local woodlots
- Local sourcing of wood (25 to 85 miles away) reduces carbon footprint from transportation.
- Wood is used efficiently to minimize waste, and scraps are ground into shavings and reused as animal bedding.
- Shipping boxes utilize reused or recycled cardboard, and all unused cardboard is recycled.
- Our cedar products are shipped in their natural color, pale tan or light gold. The color changes evenly over time to a silver gray. Water-based
or oil stains will delay the process. Latex paint coats evenly and lets wood breathe.
- Comes complete with headboard, footboard, log side rails and durable zinc coated and stainless steel hardware
- 4 support slats connect the log side rails, supporting your box spring and making the bed very stable and sturdy.
- Assembly required (15 to 25 minutes).
- Furniture includes durable zinc coated and stainless steel hardware.
- 5 year manufacturer's warranty.
- Free shipping to the continental US!
The straightforward, simple design of these beds complements many decorating styles. The fact that our beds are eco friendly will please the environmentalist in you, and the quality workmanship
is backed up by our 5 year manufacturer's warranty!
Our manufacturer is Chain of Custody certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) which supports environmentally responsible manufacturing
practices. The cedar is sustainably harvested from woodlots that are managed in an environmentally safe manner. All of the cedar comes from local sources, and is only transported 25 to 85 miles
from forest to factory - reducing the carbon footprint of this earth friendly product. Wood waste is kept to a minimum, but any scrap that is generated is ground into shavings to be used as high
quality animal bedding.
Leave as is to mellow to a beautiful silver grey over time, or add the finish of your choice. Please note that over time as it continues to dry and cure, cedar normally will "check", which
means it will develop slight cracks along the length of the logs. This is a normal and natural process which adds to the beauty and character of the wood, and it in no way affects the strength or
durability of the furniture.

Our unfinished cedar Cumberland Beds are the anchor point for our entire line of bedroom furniture. Put together an entire
bedroom suite with our nightstand, 3 drawer dresser, 5 drawer dresser, bed bench for seating
or storage, mirror and quilt ladder. Adding the connecting shelves between two or more dressers (either size) joins them to provide shelving
for storage or display between the dressers. (see photo below)
