Our manufacturer is Chain of Custody certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) which supports environmentally responsible manufacturing practices. The cedar is sustainably harvested from woodlots that are managed in an environmentally safe manner. All of the cedar comes from local sources, and is only transported 25 to 85 miles from forest to factory - reducing the carbon footprint of this eco friendly product. Wood waste is kept to a minimum, but any scrap that is generated is ground into shavings to be used as high quality animal bedding.

Tahawus means 'cloud splitter' in an Eastern Woodland Native American dialect.  The great peaks of the Adirondack Park are reflected in the unique design of the chair and bench backs, adding an instant focal point to any garden, patio, porch or deck.

Made from unfinished cedar, this table will weather to a silvery gray in 6 to 12 months, and last for 15 to 25 years outdoors in its natural state. If you like, you can keep the new milled look by applying a clear wood preserver, or alter the look by applying a darker stain. Stains and preservers will extend the life of your furniture even further - plan on re-applying every 1 to 2 years.
