Why offer your cat carpeted cat furniture that will just confuse your cat as to which surfaces in your home are meant for scratching. Cats that use carpeted cat trees won’t understand if you scold them while they scratch your carpeted floor. To them it’s all the same. • Platforms are 1 1/8 thick pine. They are sanded smooth, however the circular marks from the wood being cut at the mill are left visible,adding to the character of the cat tree.
• Platforms are bordered with 1/2 inch sisal rope for a defined edge.
• Posts are locally harvested birch with the bark removed, and are finely sanded, then sealed with an environmentally safe, non-toxic clear coat.
• Clear coat on the posts has several advantages -
  Longer life - the wood is much less susceptible to cracking in dry conditions.
  Easier to clean - the satin finish can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Our cat furniture and scratching posts can only be resold if they have not been made available to cats, even if your cat is not actively using it. Cats can be especially sensitive to smells, especially those of other cats and it is possible for the scent of another cat to cause marking (urinating). This is not an acceptable risk for us to take. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on the basis your cat is not using the product.
